KurdAI builds Kurdish-language AI tools: chat (Jire), translation (Wergêr), transliteration, and speech (text-to-speech, speech-to-text, and voice chat). This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and why. We try to collect as little as we can.

What we collect

  • Account info: your name and email, from signing in with Google or an email magic link.
  • Content you submit: your chat messages, and the text or audio you translate, transliterate, transcribe, or use with voice chat.
  • Usage data: request counts and approximate usage, so we can apply fair-use limits and show your dashboard.

How we use it

We use your information to run the services, save your chat history, apply usage limits, and keep the platform secure. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Training our models

We only use your content to improve or train our models if you give us permission. You can turn this on or off in your settings at any time, and your choice applies to both free and paid use, and to both text and voice. If you do not give permission, we do not train on your content.

Service providers

To run a safe and reliable service, we use a small number of trusted service providers, along with secure cloud servers for running our own models. These help us with things like sign-in, storage, and secure network routing. They process data only on our behalf, under contract, and they are not allowed to use it for their own purposes. Our providers and servers are based in the United States and Europe. We can share a current list of the categories of providers we use on request, by email.

If the law requires it

In rare cases we may be legally required to disclose information, for example by a valid legal order. If that happens, we will disclose only what the law requires, and where we are allowed to, we will try to let you know.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers in the United States and Europe, and is encrypted in storage.

How long we keep it

We keep the content you submit for a short period, about 30 days, for security and to prevent abuse. After that it is deleted, unless you have given permission to use it for training, or it is part of chat history you have chosen to keep. You can delete your chat history, or your whole account and its data, at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, or delete your data, or delete your account entirely. To do this, email us at contact@kurdai.org. We aim to reply within 30 days.

Cookies

We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Children

KurdAI is not directed at children under 16.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy, and the date above will change when we do. If you have any questions, email us at contact@kurdai.org.
